"I Am Legend" thoughts...

Usually when I see "TOP FIVE/EIGHT/TEN!" lists on digg.com I immediately grind my teeth and skip over them. However, there are rare times when these sort of lists can be interesting. Today was one such day.

By way of this digg article we find this cracked.com spam, er post.

What made me give the page more than 5 seconds of consideration was "I Am Legend" -- I hated the ending to the movie, it made no sense whatsoever, the ending in whole ruined the movie. But then I watched the original ending, and you know what? It made complete sense, it fit perfectly with the movie, it resolved all the little hints given throughout the movie and more. Below is the original awesome ending.

I haven't got around to buying the I Am Legend DVD yet, and I'm glad I didn't rush out to get it, because I think I would really only want the DVD with the correct ending on it -- not the retarded self-destructive changed ending.

So, show me an I Am Legend DVD that plays front to end with this awesome ending and I'll buy it, for sure.

On that note, the only other interesting point on this 5 list is the Superman II movie. I always wondered about the Superman Super Logo thing...I think I'll have to pickup the remake sometime...

Today's Videos (Mortal Kombat & A Shot at Love 2)

First, thanks to our good friend digg.com, I found this video today of every Mortal Kombat fatality. What's interesting to me is how rather boring they get after MK2 and seriously boring after MK3. With MK the Klassics were just that, Klassic!

On the note of Mortal Kombat there does seem to be credible rumors/announcements that MORTAL KOMBAT THE MOVIE 3 is on the way! I really hope they capture much of the spirit in the original MK movie, although I enjoyed the second one, it just seemed to stray way off the path ... for example, a ride through some ball through underground fire-pits? Eh.... not that interesting.

That said, enjoy some MK movie fight scenes!

Finally, do NOT ask me why I like this show.

Seriously, don't.

But for whatever reason since Season One of A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila I just cannot get enough. It's just oddly interesting.

To be honest, something tells me Tila is something of a pro at manipulating people though, something just tells me she isn't for real...I seriously do not see how the people on the show are for real just as much...so I accept it with as much value as I would watching WWE, I consider it just to be entertainment and do not take it for any sort of authenticness.

That said, it is fun to watch...and this episode was quite interesting...

[Note, I was going to insert the video here directly from MTV's site, but MTV must hire monkeys as coders, or Drupal just doesn't like the code. They could just make it simple like Youtube does....]

So this link should suffice.

Smallville - Season 7 - Episode 20 - "Artic" - Season Finale

I'm sure I've ranted about this before. By now one would ask, "why even bother with it anymore?" And the answer to that is this: it's Superman damnit! I'm desperate to see a modern interpretation of the life and growth of the man that will be Superman!

... Instead, I've sadly accepted the fact that this is just like the THOUSANDS of worthless comics that come out repeatedly that just build upon, ruin, and drown loved characters in pools of nonsense. Smallville is an alternate universe with a different Clark Kent.

There was an excellent (for once) story in The Adventures of Lois & Clark where we were introduced to a world with a Superman that didn't really exist openly. Clark was there, he had his powers and all, but he never really used them or did much. He wasn't bad, he was good, but he just didn't get involved. THAT is the Clark I see Smallville building...a weak pathetic crybaby that will not become the Superman we love without some amazing adventure from people from an alternate universe come to change his ways.

Seriously, I don't care about their lawsuit issues as well. The show exists, it has been running for 7 seasons now and all I've really seen for awhile is a looooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg filler line of episodes.

How the hell is this guy supposed to be Superman?!

The "no tights, no flights" rule needs to end with season 7. If Clark hasn't figured out/tried to practice -- an even RUDIMENTAL flight after Season 8 Episode 2...well hell, I already look forward to Hell's Kitchen more than I do Smallville...so I guess it's up to them to take this show from a big boring flop to showing me just how Clark becomes Superman.

...

I hate to admit it, but for the the first time I actually fast forward through some of Smallville. When Clark put in the Lana tape, I didn't even care, seriously, WHO CARES ABOUT LANA?

Either get Season 8 in order or stop wasting our time showing us crap about some guy that CLEARLY isn't even a SHADOW of the Superman he should be turning into.

...

I will note that they did a fine job of slowly building Lex Luthor into the villian we have all come to love. He isn't totally ruthless yet, but I have been pleased to see him clearly transforming, what a shame Michael Rosenbaum will not be back for Season 8 to be one of the few good crutches the show has/had.

Oh, did I mention I'm nowhere even slightly interested about the teasers they have for Season 8?

Doomsday? Are you kidding me? Unless Clark becomes amazingly different in Season 8 I do not see how the current WHIMP (aka Clark Kent) is going to deal with Doomsday.

...

On a final note, I do want to mention that I think Tom Welling is doing well in the role of Clark Kent. I suspect it isn't his fault how the shoddy story lines go. In Season 7 Episode 19 (I think) we see a glimpse of Clark complete with glasses and suit -- for the first time in a LONG TIME, I was temporarily excited while watching Smallville. Of course, that was short lived...but it was a nice couple of seconds...

A couple of good seconds in hours upon hours of drivel however.

WE REQUIRE MORE VESPENE GAS...

Great Soccer Clips

Soccer is the greatest sport. Period. It is. I love watching crazy goal scoring clips. I blame Digg for this today.
