G4TV and the Former Tech TV

Published by CJ May 18th, 2006

05-19-2006 UPDATE: I would add ‘Brianiac’ — an interesting ’science’ show — to the list of decent programs on G4TV, which brings the total of good programs on G4TV to…. two.

There used to be a great network on BASIC CABLE called Tech TV; eventually, for whatever reason Tech TV was moved to the digital cable package. Then finally, Tech TV became G4TV. That’s the brief history story of how Tech TV became G4TV.

Why did Tech TV matter? What was on it? A bunch of great shows, some of which I am sure I am missing here:

Get your spam with your pizza!

I’m ordering online from Papa Johns, tip-tap my billing information in, get around to the confirmation page and…

There is a huge banner for some satellite radio. This integrated spamming is really annoying. Soon even the cars we buy will turn into those speeding banners from NASCAR; off-topic, I don’t watch auto racing, just the crashes. Why not really? Why not just stick floating banners in space that beam down in all glorious lighting for the world to see, “McSpace! I’m lovin’ it!”

A Gamers Rights To Choose, Maps, and More

Movies as of May 11, 2006

Published by CJ May 11th, 2006

Let me just cut to the chase, all we are doing between now and June is waiting for Superman Returns, all other movies until then are merely for remote amusement.

But wait! X-Men 3 is coming out! That will be a great movie right?! You bet, it will be fantastic to see X-Men 3. However, everything pales in comparison to Superman Returns. I will say at a far, distant, second place, is X-Men 3 for certain.
